In the movie, The Ghost and the Darkness , there were two maneater lions that ate 130 people!! It's a true story that happened in Tsavo, Africa in 1898. Colonel John Henry Patterson (Val Kilmer) was an engineer sent to build a bridge over the Tsavo River. The lions were not normal. They dragged the bones back to their den and put them in a pile. They also weren't afraid of fire. I thought the movie was really scary and suspenseful.
Colonel John Henry Patterson wrote a book about what happened. You can even read it online.
