Firewood Cutting Rig

Here's the new firewood cutting rig we made this past weekend.  We got the idea from a friend of ours.  We also got the wood from his uncle.  We think we need to sharpen the chain (it was pulling to the right a little).  The logs are from a mill that peels them for making plywood.

Here's the bar that goes across to stop the sides from bowing out from all the weight

The boys and Big Daddy split the logs and then I helped stack them.  The logs were very difficult to split!  But we are hoping it will help them dry faster.  We also put some fans out in the wood shed to speed the process along.

p.s.  It was an absolutely beautiful day!
