64 years ago on June 6 ,1944, the Allied forces(America, Britain, France, and Canada) launched a massive attack against Axis(Germans, Italians, and Japanese)forces in Normandy. The Allies had: 5,000 large ships; 4,000 landing craft; 11,000 aircraft; and 3,000,000 troops. There were also paratroopers parachuting behind enemy lines so they could cut off enemy supply lines, capture bridges, and destroy gun emplacements.
