Backpacking Trip

This weekend my dad and I went on a backpacking trip somewhere around Mt. St. Helens.  We and a couple of friends packed all our food, cooking supplies, tents, and sleeping gear on our backs and hiked it in to a good campsite and set up camp.

 On Friday, we hiked along the Siouxon creek then we set up camp. It wasn't that hot out because we camped right next to a raging river (due to the snow melt) that is usually a little creek .  We tried to build a fire then we went to bed.  I just slept under a tarp. 

 On Saturday, we went on a day hike to see some falls. The people that we went with said they have never seen the water so high.   It was really high!  Some waterfalls we saw our friends said used to be just a trickle.   Now it is a raging torrent of water because of the snow melt.  The whole trip was at least a 10 mile hike.  It was a very neat place. 

 On Sunday, we packed up and left.  It was a lot of fun. I hope we do it again soon.
